my secret knowledge is that you should always try to look for holes in the wall. what i mean is, try to look for little niche out groups and communities and hangout spots. the world seems very closed off and desolate nowadays but theres plenty to do if you just go looking hard enough. i found a really good spot to hang out by wandering between buildings, and i can tell im not the first to have been through here due to graffiti and litter and stuff. there's beauty to be found everywhere

My secret knowledge is that being kind to yourself first when you are in need of a break/selfcare is always better to someone else you may be putting yourself off for. It does not help your loved ones if you are so busy helping others that you leave yourself behind, because they would really just end up needing to come to your aid and thus will begin a cycle. Beyond that cycle, however, a good friend would be upset if you were to not take care of your needs, and its not something they'd really consent to because they would not want their own needs to be prioritized over yours. The golden rule states to treat others the way you want to be treated, but remember that statement insinuates mutuality. The golden rule, in turn, also states to treat yourself the way you'd like to treat others. This knowledge I believe has become a secret simply because it applies to people that tend to put other people first, not themselves.
To be personal, it's a lesson I have learned through a lot of trial and error, and I would get so burned out by my own determination to help other people or do everything right for them, that it edged into a psychological form of torture even though I wasn't really aware of that. Nudging my thinking habits to align with this when in a vulnerable state still is something I am working on, but since I have adopted it into ways I try to approach life, I have helped both my relationship with myself as well as my relationships with others.
