the quiet aspect is good (i think i need to figure out a good way to muffle my furby's voicebox so i can actually have her turned on) but otherwise they aren't doing much for me. i feel like they miss a lot of the original furby charm and the aesthetic blurs too heavily with other modern kids toys that it leads to a loss of the prior distinctiveness. also people kept saying "oh i found [the originals] really creepy but i like this one!" and it made me sad so i think i might be holding that against them a little bit, sorry furby 2023 it's not your fault. looking at them closer they really aren't too bad, i agree that the beaks being just a single unmoving piece of plastic is a huge loss though.

They're really cute but imo i'm not a huge fan of the color choices. Glad that the led eyes are gone but I think they should've kept the patterned fur, these are just the models they have for release so I'm hoping more variants come out soon!

not only is the beak not moving kind of an L, but i find its too proportionally small.. it looks like furby would have trouble breathing :[ like those smush face dog and cat breeds

The problem I've mainly had with them is that it feels like they're directly trying to go for the aesthetic you'd see with magic mixies, the very flat bug eyed and overly pastel pink + purple "girls" marketed toys, it's not that I don't like that but rather it just doesn't feel super furby to me? The booms at least had a fun amount of emotion, the idea these poor guys live a life of constant mouth hanging open ruins a lot of the immersion of them being alive that they've always carried All in all a lot of the furby identity is just missing here for me! Give me silly natural tones and cow colors mixed in with the vibrancy overload! Cater to a wider color pool! So many people love their 05s that are black/white/earthy/green and I just want to see that again mixed with the overly bright colors! Make them feel like little beasts again!

That being said, I am a sucker for bright colors and that pink and teal goblin is calling my name ♡
