Hello!!

I am a little critter who loves to make art and comics that depicts subject matter involving animals (especially foxes, tanukis and various domesticated dog breeds, especially border collies, in addition to insects and other bugs), monsters, landscapes and otherworldly metaphysical beings :3

I also draw comics and am working on an episodic indie webcomic/graphic novel series currently, which I had began posting online in December 2021 and have nearly finished the first episode! I'll link it here at some stage if anyone is interested. :>

My art is entirely traditional, and I have been primarily been working with india ink (using dip pens and brushes) in conjunction with watercolour and gouache.

I hope you guys like my funny little critters :3

WOAH I adore your art style, so charming!!~ the inking is insanely well done and the way you draw backgrounds is very captivating

Also thank you to you for your kind words here too!! Also that’s lovely that you are a collie owner!! Whilst I do have a massive soft spot for foxes and otherwise vulpine-like canids, I do have a great love of domesticated dogs too and border collies are a breed I absolutely adore. The one in my piece you’re referring to was based on a lovely collie I knew in my childhood, she lived with my relatives in the countryside and was one of the best friends I ever had. The piece was something of a tribute to her, I miss her so much but treasure the memories we had together <3

My first impression was "That is some GOOD shaped animal" and continued into "Woah. This art demands to be looked at."
Your command of the traditional medium is so clever- Whether intentional or not (I'm assuming intentional!) the smudges, bleeding lines and imperfections work so seamlessly to create the overwhelming heaviness of these environments. From these few images you've shared, you've painted a bright and dark world, like a dream I have little control over, and I'm sharing the dream of these forlorn creatures that fit into the scenery so organically. Everything feels like smoke and wind or the texture of a tree- It's very tangible and it's very powerful. I feel unwelcome in these worlds but also gently invited into them... I'd love to read your comic!!

This was such a lovely comment to read, I've only just gotten around to being able to reply because I've been so busy as of late. Thank you so much for your kind words, your descriptions of my work and specific aspects of it are incredibly endearing and heartwarming. It especially means a lot that you picked up on the level of emphasis I place on aspects like imperfections and all in my inkwork and all. I'd always drawn with ink in some form since I was very young, but when I switched from using fine liner/micron-like pens for my artwork, I soon came to learn and embrace imperfections in inking and all. Not to mention the importance of improvising if something goes wrong; like if I smudge a line or something I'll roll with it! Anyway thank you once again, I'm very happy you enjoy my work and I am most appreciative of your lovely comment!! Also I'm gonna talk about the comic in this post below, and where it can be read :3

Omg I love that you feel it has an autumnal and surreal feel!! Honestly that's a huge compliment too!! The autumn is my favourite time of the year so that makes me so happy. :3 Thank you for your interest in my art, I hope you enjoy it as I post going forward <3

With regard to my comic, it is titled God Animal, and the characters in the story (with many yet to be introduced in the story as of yet) have appeared in some of the pieces I've shared here! The two foxes, each with black and white coats, respectively, are the main protagonists of the comic. The comic is set in an slightly alternate timeline, with the beginning of the story taking place in what may be around 1998-1999. I won't spoil much beyond that, but the first episode (which as I said in the first post, is almost complete as of writing) is titled Our Friend Rebirth Horse; it follows the two foxes, named Cat and Dog, two very close friends, who explore an abandoned human house in a remote location bordering a forest. It is there that they encounter a peculiar and powerful, but otherwise friendly and very laid-back deity who launch the duo into the heart of the world from which there is no return.

I'm building a Neocities site currently for my art, comics and discussion of my special interests, but I have uploaded all the present pages thus far on there. Please note the comic page itself is very evidently incomplete, but the comic itself is full readable; just excuse the rudiemntary presentation of the page for now!

Thanks! :3 I have many, in terms of both extant and extinct species (as I'm a massive nerd for the Cambrian period of the Palaoezoic era, the fossil beds at the Burgess Shale containing a detailed record of flora and fauna from the seas of that time are a massive special interest of mine)!! In terms of living species, I love crustaceans (isopods as well as decapods like lobsters and crayfish are big favourites!!), cetaceans such as whales (I also have a big special interest in their evolutionary history), various aquatic worms/worm-like animals and of course many fish (as I've had a lifelong fascination with ichthyology, and especially love lobe-finned fishes like coelacanths) :>

Finished this one recently too, I'm starting to adapt more to my new job and other life changes as of late, so I hope to have more time producing more drawings and paintings very soon >:3

Hi there! So sorry for the late reply, I’ve been meaning to post here again and did only recently see you had replied here.
